To The Pumpkin Patch

I was born, raised and will forever be a city girl so it's probably no surprise that I've only been to the pumpkin patch a few things in my life. Yesterday, my friend  and I took a drive up north to visit one of the many pumpkin patches in the  greater Seattle area. It was so much fun and we will be coming back next year!

We stopped to take way too many photos including those funny face cut-out photo boards and you have take a picture in front of a John Deere; I'm pretty it's a farm rule. Along with the picking of pumpkins, there was also a pumpkin cannon, corn maze and hay rides. All the fun fall activities you could ever want to do.

My friend with our wheel barrel; this was also her first trip to the pumpkin patch. She has been friends with me long enough to know that I have no upper body strength and no help when it comes to heavy lifting. She was kind enough to push the wheel barrel all over the patch and up a hill which I greatly appreciated.

Talking Nonsense

It's fall and I love fall. I get to wear sweaters and hats and talk nonsense all over this blog about how much I love this time of year.

You may be sick of this topic or still mourning the loss of summer but I don't care, I'm going to talk about it anyways.

Today was one of those great fall days. It was a little cloudy and the sky had a wonderful balance between being blue and grey and it was just sunny enough. I know Seattle could use more sunny days but there's just something about the cloudy weather that makes me happy.

Whirligigs and Flu Shots

This is the outfit I got a flu shot in. In running out the door for this always annoying but important errand, I figured I could take a few photos as long as I was out. But in my rushing to get the doctor office, I didn't think to put on any jewelry and my outfit really suffered for it.

I guess it's one of the funny parts of documenting my outfits, I really see what works and what doesn't. At times like these, I'm reminded of Cher from the movie Clueless who said "I don't trust mirrors, so I always take Polaroids."

I stopped at one of the Seattle city lights substations to take photos in front of the whirligigs. It was build in the 70's and was one of the first major integrated art pieces in the city. I have not been since I was little but it was the perfect day to stop, there was just enough wind to make the whirligigs spin.

A Girl's Gotta Do What A Girl's Gotta Do

I started out my day in a skirt but after running around all day which included a shopping trip to the mall. I was ready to not be in a skirt and heels anymore but I need to stop by my sister's house and I was meeting friends for dinner so there was just no time to go home to change. I did the next best thing, change into my new legging before leaving the mall.

As few months ago, I thrifted this sweater. Normally, I don't check out in the mens section but my friend was looking so I did too and that is where we found the robot. It's such a cool sweater and the back is pretty funny, too.

Here is my friend and her new boots which she also changed into at the mall. We were really excited about our new clothes.

If a little is good, more must be better

We all have those pieces of clothing that we love but never seem to fit into our clothing routine. You know the top or skirt you always try on but end up taking off because it's never right.

For me, that item is this top. Usually, I just don't like how I style it. And this morning was the same, I didn't like it with any of my jackets. I went to grab a boring black cardigan but instead found my pink polka dot one. And I thought to myself what goes better with pink polka dots than more pink polka dots.

Most of the time this much pink would be over kill but somehow it works. I'm calling this look "mixing sort of matching prints." I'm adding it to my collection of trends I'm making happen this year. In case you missed it here is the other trend I started Dressing like Desserts.
